George Pickens has come a long way from a serious knee injury, and now he’s preparing for the NFL Draft.
The former Georgia wide receiver offered a candid thought at the Bulldogs’ Pro Day on Wednesday about why he forgot his birthday this year.
“I’m the type of person I take life at a time,” he said. “My birthday came up the other day and I didn’t really think about it, just think about keep working every day.”
He only realized it once Pickens got a message on Instagram. “Oh shoot, today’s my birthday,” he recalled saying.
Aside from his knee injury, Pickens, who was a second-team pre-season All-SEC, as voted by the league’s 14 head coaches, may be remembered for making a 52-yard reception in the national title game in January. It was one of just 4 appearances last season season after his spring ACL injury.
After the regular season, he caught 2 passes for 41 yards in SEC Championship Game against Alabama, and made one catch for nine yards vs. Michigan.
