Georgia’s 2022 recruiting class just got a late boost.
That’s because a player from Grovetown, Georgia, who had committed to the Bulldogs’ 2023 recruiting class back on May 15 of 2021, has decided to reclassify.
Per 247Sports, 4-star CB Marcus Washington will join the Georgia program this summer instead:
The Georgia Bulldogs were not done with the 2022 class after all. On Monday night, Marcus Washington confirmed to Dawgs247 that he plans to forego his senior season and enroll a year early at UGA. He will be on campus in a few weeks with the rest of the Georgia signees following graduation.
Per the 247Sports composite rankings, Washington was the No. 8 cornerback in the 2023 class and the No. 5 overall recruit from the state of Georgia before reclassifying to 2022.
UPDATE: Washington confirmed the news via his Twitter page:
Next stop ✈️ Athens, GA ✌?
