Another Bulldog has come off the board as offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn has been selected with the 23rd overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft by New England. Wynn becomes the second of what is expected to be a loaded Bulldog class taken in the draft this weekend.
Named as one of Georgia’s permanent captains by season’s end, Wynn became a stable of the offensive line in Athens over the previous three seasons. He made 39 starts during that span, starting every contest at left tackle for the SEC Champions in 2017.
While he developed into an elite tackle in the SEC, Wynn projects as an interior offensive lineman at the NFL level. Look for him to shift inside to guard with his new team.
Here is what one anonymous NFL scout had to say about Wynn’s pro potential according to Lance Zierlein of NFL.com:
“He’s what you want from a tackle but he’s not even going to come in at 6’3 so that’s (stinks). He’ll be a good player for a team who wants athletic guards. You might even see a team draft him as a center since he’s stronger than a lot of the centers you will see in this draft.” – NFC area scout
