Jay Barker was born in Birmingham, Ala., and went on to play quarterback for Alabama during the early 1990s.
Now, there’s going to be an SEC rivalry in Barker’s household.
On Monday, Barker’s daughter, Sarah Ashlee, committed to Georgia to play basketball. She chose the Bulldogs over Alabama and Auburn.
That is only one of Barker’s four children, however. His son, Braxton, is currently a quarterback for the Crimson Tide, just like he was.
Sarah Ashlee plays basketball for Spain Park High School in Birmingham. Her twin brother, Harrison, currently plays quarterback for Spain Park.

Although her dad played for Alabama, Sarah Ashlee knew she wanted to attend Georgia after visiting.
“I had an idea I was going to commit, but I wanted to see the football side and other stuff,” Barker said, according to AL.com. “When I got there, I knew there was no holding back. The atmosphere is great and Georgia is the place for me. It felt like home.”
Barker congratulated his daughter on Twitter, but he made sure to clarify that he would only cheer for Georgia in women’s basketball.
Congrats SA! So proud of you and for you. You have worked so hard for this. Love you and “Go Dawgs” (girls basketball) ?. https://t.co/hskvZ6RcoY
