Kirby Smart and Georgia haven’t faced LSU since 2019’s SEC Championship Game. That season, Joe Burrow was the talk of college football as the Tigers eased past the Bulldogs 37-10 en route to an undefeated championship season.
The 2 teams will meet again in Atlanta on Dec. 3, and the scene is much different. This time, the Tigers are the underdogs going into Mercedes-Benz Stadium and are tasked with knocking the defending national champions off their perch.
And Smart, while realizing that this edition of LSU is far from the offensive juggernaut it was 3 years ago, recognizes that their overall strength lies in their physical makeup.

One of those players that stands out is linebacker Harold Perkins. The true freshman has had a terrific campaign for the Tigers, totaling 59 tackles, 6.5 sacks, and 10.0 tackles for a loss.
Kirby Smart on #LSU LB Harold Perkins: “He’s extremely explosive, athletic and they do a very good job of utilizing his skillset.”

We’ll see if the Tigers can bounce back from their loss to Texas A&M, or if the top-ranked Bulldogs can keep their streak running and claim their 1st SEC championship since 2017. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. ET on CBS.
