Kirby Smart was thrilled after his Georgia Bulldogs escaped Jordan-Hare Stadium with a conference win Saturday.

The Bulldogs had a scare, as the game was tied late in the 4th. However, a huge Brock Bowers TD gave the Bulldogs a 27-20 lead and the Tigers were unable to drive and tie the game.

After the game, Smart walked back to the locker room when a group of Georgia fans caught his attention. The coach responded by launching his signature visor into the crowd.

While it wasn’t the prettiest win, every conference win is huge when you have championship aspirations.

The Bulldogs collected 420 total yards of offense with 313 through the air and 107 on the ground. The Bulldogs were much more efficient on 3rd downs than the Tigers were. The Bulldogs converted 8-of-13 opportunities while the Tigers converted on just 2-12.

Carson Beck threw an interception in the game, which was just his 2nd of the season. Payton Thorne was unable to get much going through the air, finishing with just 82 passing yards. However, the Tigers did damage on the ground, and racked up 219 yards and 2 TDs on the ground.

The Bulldogs remain perfect and will next prepare to face the fellow undefeated Kentucky Wildcats.
