Kirby Smart saw Brock Bowers return from ankle surgery on Saturday for another solid outing in the lopsided win over Ole Miss. Bowers caught 3 passes for 34 yards and a touchdown in what appeared to be a full-go following the injury at Vanderbilt less than a month ago.

On Monday, Smart was asked about Bowers’ health, and how available he’ll be this week at Tennessee.

“He didn’t play every snap of every game anyway,” Smart said. “So I don’t know. I’ll have to look and see his snaps in the other games. I’m sure he had more snaps in other games. He’s in good shape, he’s conditioned, I don’t know if he’s 100%, but he’s healthy and safe enough to play, and we’re going to allow him to play as long as he wants to. And he wanted to go out there and compete and play, and I don’t think it’s a matter of how many snaps he can take, I think he’ll be fine.”

Bowers got the start against Ole Miss after he missed just 2 games after injuring his left ankle in an Oct. 14 victory at Vanderbilt. A huge roar went up from the Sanford Stadium crowd when Bowers was announced as part of the starting lineup during pregame warmups.

Bowers came into the game still still leading Georgia with 41 receptions for 567 yards and 4 touchdowns, even after missing victories over Florida and Missouri.
