Georgia fans didn’t quite pull off the ambitious “checker Neyland Stadium” goal, and beating Tennessee doesn’t mean what it meant years ago, but in the Smart household, the Bulldogs beating the Volunteers in Knoxville is still something to celebrate.
After UGA’s 43-14 win over UT, reporters observed both Kirby and Mary Beth Smart leap into the stands to celebrate with Georgia fans who made the trip to Rocky Top and stuck around after the conclusion of the game.
Uncommon post-game moment: Kirby and Mary Beth Smart both lept into end zone and celebrated with the Georgia fans inside Neyland Stadium. Coach Smart was first before he headed in. Mary Beth followed minutes later on her own.

After starting 0-1 in the Georgia-Tennessee rivalry, Smart has led UGA to victory in the last three meetings.
