Matt Stafford, former Georgia QB, clarifies retirement rumors

Matthew Stafford has no intentions of leaving the NFL at this time, despite some of the rumors that have circulated.
The former Georgia standout quarterback recently appeared on “The Morning After” podcast hosted by his wife, Kelly, who asked him if he plans to retire. Kelly has said repeatedly that Stafford plans to continue playing football, but wanted the public to hear it from him instead.
Stafford, who is sidelined for the remainder of the season with a spinal cord contusion, said that he is returning for the 2023 season. He is not expected to have to undergo surgery for the issue, either.
How he recovers and bounces back will be something to watch after he finished the year with a 68% completion rate, 2,087 passing yards, 10 touchdowns and 8 interceptions over 9 games.
