New Georgia Tech coach Geoff Collins is no stranger to his program’s rivalry with Georgia. On Friday, he fired shots at the Bulldogs, adding some much needed spice to the “Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate” rivalry.

Collins’s dislike for Georgia went even further Friday, as he also stated he would no longer write anything in red.

It’s unclear whether Collins will wear or write anything in black, but he’s proved his point. The rivalry is back on between Georgia and Georgia Tech.
Despite the Yellow Jackets beating Georgia just two years ago, this rivalry has grown a bit stale. Under Kirby Smart, the Bulldogs have become national contenders. During about the same time, Georgia Tech has posted a 24-24 record.
At the very least, Collins’ comments will add some spice to the matchup in 2019.
Collins comes from Temple, where he coached the last two years, but he served on the Georgia Tech coaching staff from 1999-2001 and in 2006. He probably dislikes Georgia from his days as Florida defensive coordinator from 2015-16 as well.
