Oregon has reportedly found its new head coach.

On Friday, Chip Towers of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that the Ducks were hiring Georgia DC Dan Lanning to replace Mario Cristobal.

That report was immediately rebuked by national college football writers and Oregon scribes. But, on Saturday, Lanning was reportedly once again the hire for the Ducks:

Now, the question becomes — will Lanning stay on at Georgia through the College Football Playoff? He’ll have his hands full trying to put together a 2022 recruiting class at Oregon with the Early Signing Period starting this coming week.

We’ll see what happens moving forward, but now the coaching carousel seems to be coming to a halt.
