Rodrigo Blankenship, the former Georgia star kicker, was released by the Indianapolis Colts earlier this year.

Now, Hot Rod has landed another NFL opportunity, and he’s heading to the NFC West.

As you can see below, the Arizona Cardinals announced on Twitter on Tuesday that they were adding Blankenship to their practice squad:

The press release from the Cardinals details Hot Rod’s stats during his time in the NFL:

Blankenship has made 45 of 53 field goals in his career in two seasons and one game with the Colts. He played in just five games last season because of a hip injury, making 11 of 14 field goals. He was released after the opener when he missed a 42-yard field goal in overtime of a 20-20 tie with the Texans.

Will Blankenship last in the desert? We’ll see what happens with the Cardinals’ kicking situation moving forward.
