What an incredible story that ran on College GameDay this morning about Georgia star running back and his hometown legacy.

Chubb’s family history (and the history of his hometown) was the focus on this particular segment Saturday in Salt Lake City, UT. The feature tells the story of how “Chubbtown” came to creation, as a small group from Virginia who survived the Civil War birthed a colony in northwest Georgia.

You can watch the entire video here.

“That’s incredible during that time period for African Americans to be free,” Chubb said. “Not only that, but for them to come and build their own community and start their own business was even more impressive.”

Chubb, who has rushed for 586 yards and five touchdowns this season, will look to help Georgia take care of business against Florida in today’s rivalry game, which kicks off at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
