Unfortunate news to share as former Kentucky quarterback and fan favorite Jared Lorenzen has apparently been taken to the hospital.

Lorenzen had to be hospitalized due to an infection.

This news comes from Kentucky Sports Radio’s Matt Jones, who got the information from Lorenzen’s mother. Lorenzen’s mother has asked for Big Blue Nation for their prayers.

The former Kentucky quarterback suited up in Lexington from 2000-2003 and passed for 10,354 yards and 78 touchdowns during his playing career in Lexington. He also rushed for an additional 283 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Following his collegiate playing career, Lorenzen went on to play two seasons in the NFL for the New York Giants.
