Tyler Herro really started to emerge as a first-round talent as the season wore on, providing long-range scoring and impressive defense for the Kentucky Wildcats.
Now, he’s a lottery pick at the 2019 NBA Draft, which was a possibility that emerged as the season wore on.
He’s heading to Miami, where he’ll play for the Heat — the team that chose him with the No. 13 overall pick in Thursday night’s draft in Brooklyn.
The Heat will hope that Herro’s “I’m a bucket” trash talk is true, as they need someone to replace Dwyane Wade’s production. Herro is already a better three-point shooter than Wade ever was, but he’ll need to develop his all-around game to help replace D-Wade.
For now, though, Herro has his first NBA home, and we’ll see how he fares as a rookie.
