WATCH: Kentucky crowd sings Star-Spangled Banner a cappella before Alabama game

Usually, colleges bring in singers to do the national anthem before sporting events. Should that fall through, bands or recordings are usually the next options.

However, in Lexington on Saturday afternoon, the Kentucky fans in attendance sang the national anthem a cappella prior to the big game against Alabama.

As you can see in the video below, shared on YouTube by AL.com, it was a great moment prior to tipoff:

The Wildcats have lost four games in a row, so they need a win in the worst way. Getting that boost from their fans may be enough to put them over the top.

However, Alabama is one of the hottest teams in the SEC right now, so the rest of Saturday afternoon’s game should be a good one.
