Kentucky is the oldest football program in the SEC. The Wildcats were an inaugural member of the conference in 1932, but their origin story traces all the way back to 1881.

Kentucky claims 1 national championship, which came in 1950. The Wildcats have won 2 conference titles, most recently in 1976, when they were co-champions. They won the outright SEC title during that impressive 1950 season under Bear Bryant.

Currently, Mark Stoops is at the helm of the program. He’s the longest-tenured head coach in the SEC now that Nick Saban has retired at Alabama. He’s setting all kinds of records for the Kentucky program and has the Wildcats frequently in the top half of the SEC standings.

Can the Wildcats remain competitive in the new era of the College Football Playoff? We’ll see what the future holds.
