Alex Bregman had a lot to celebrate Saturday night. The former LSU baseball All-American won the second World Series of his major-league career, helping the Houston Astros defeat the Philadelphia Phillies 4-2 in a best-of-7 series. Bregman could not believe the news he received while still on the Minute Maid Park field.
Bregman was giving interviews when he was informed of his LSU’s upset win over Alabama 4 hours east over in Baton Rouge.
“No way!” Bregman replied when told the Tigers took down the Crimson Tide.
When further told LSU won on the last play in overtime, Bregman had the same response.
Ari Alexander of KPRC 2 shared the clip of Bregman’s on-field reaction of disbelief.

Bregman tweeted his congratulations to Brian Kelly and the Tigers Sunday evening.

There were, of course, many LSU fans in Tiger Stadium similarly thrilled to hear that Bregman and the Astros took care of business in Game 6.
Against the Phillies, Bregman logged 3 doubles, a home run, 4 RBI and 4 runs in the fall classic.
