Anonymous SEC assistant says Joe Burrow will be exposed vs. Alabama: ‘He’s not very good’

Joe Burrow came to LSU as a graduate transfer from Ohio State this offseason and took over the starting job. Now, he has the Tigers at No. 3 in the first College Football Playoff rankings of the 2018 season.

Burrow hasn’t put up gaudy numbers, but he has thrown for 1,544 yards, six touchdowns and only three interceptions.

However, one anonymous SEC assistant thinks this weekend’s game against Alabama will not go so well for Burrow. In fact, the assistant told Yahoo’s Pete Thamel that Burrow flat-out isn’t a good quarterback:

“Who is going to get exposed is the LSU quarterback,” said an SEC assistant. “He’s not very good. He’s average. He’s a general and a game manager. They’re hyping him because they haven’t had a good quarterback in a long time. He’s going to struggle against ‘Bama. He’s not a talented enough passer to take them apart and beat them in the pass game.”

Obviously, Burrow’s numbers don’t come close to what Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa has been able to do this year, but he keeps leading the Tigers to victories.

But, if Alabama’s defense does dominate Burrow and the LSU offense, it’ll be a worrisome sign for the Tigers moving forward.
