While it’s tough to get noticed in the shadow of Leonard Fournette, LSU RB Derrius Guice is proving that he’s much more than just the future first-round pick’s backup.
In fact, he’s the fastest Tigers running back to hit the 1,000-yard mark in his career:
Derrius Guice is the fastest RB in #LSU history to reach 1,000 career yards. Did it in just 113 carries.

That’s an unbelievable average of 8.8 yards per carry for Guice so far in his career. His numbers on the season are even better:

While college football fans around the country are watching to Fournette’s return, it’s clear to anyone watching LSU football that the Tigers backfield is doing just fine in his absence.
