Two games in and Ed Orgeron is breaking records at LSU.
In his first appearance as the Tigers’ interim coach, he led the team to a 42-7 win over Missouri and reset the program record for total offense with 634 yards. And thanks to a convincing 45-10 victory vs. Southern Miss last week, he became the first coach in LSU history to win his first two games by 30-plus points.
Ed Orgeron is 1st coach in @LSUfootball history (SEC era) to win his 1st 2 games as head coach of the Tigers by 30 or more points.

That’s an accomplishment for any coach, but especially Orgeron, who aims to become the team’s full-time head coach for the 2017 season and beyond. In three seasons with Ole Miss (2005-07) and nine games as USC’s interim coach in 2013, Orgeron had just one win that resulted in 30 points or more: a 62-28 blowout against Cal.

Of course, just a win in general vs. his next opponent would be a welcomed achievement. LSU will host No. 23 Ole Miss this Saturday at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN.
