The Tigers may have lost some star power this week to opt-outs but that news hasn’t stopped the momentum of the LSU program according to the head coach in Baton Rouge.

Despite what you may have heard to the contrary, the sky isn’t falling in Baton Rouge following recent opt-outs by Ja’Marr Chase and Tyler Shelvin.

During his most recent appearance on ESPN Baton Rouge 104.5 FM radio show “Off The Bench,” Ed Orgeron was asked for his reaction to the news.

“Those things are going to happen, that’s the time we are living in,” Orgeron said on the show. “We wish Ja’Marr and Tyler the best. They helped us win a national championship, they are two great young men from great families. We recruited both of them. We wish them the best but you know what? We don’t blink. Next man up.

“Are we going to miss those guys? Sure we are. But we got some guys here that can play some football.”

Before moving on to discussing the latest from LSU’s training camp, Coach O was quick to point out that his program returns plenty of talent on the bayou.

“Next man up, here we go,” Orgeron concluded.
