A New Orleans native, Washington endured multiple setbacks at LSU. A camp injury limited him his freshman season (2015), when he played in six games. As a sophomore, he missed the whole 2016 season after tearing his ACL in preseason camp. This past spring, Washington participated in four practices before he was pulled out for academic reasons. He was working at the buck position, a hybrid of defensive end and outside linebacker in Dave Aranda’s defense.
Coming out of Edna Karr, Washington was rated the No. 22 weak-side defensive end of the 2015 recruiting class on the 247Sports Composite.
