Justin McMillan is officially a member of Tulane’s football program.
The former LSU quarterback left the Tigers in the middle of the team’s latest training camp. He was the second signal caller to leave the program in a 24-hour period, the first was Lowel Narcisse. LSU has yet to name a starting quarterback but the competition is down to Myles Brennan and Ohio State graduate transfer Joe Burrow.
McMillan was a recent guest of 104.5 FM ESPN Baton Rouge radio program Off The Bench and offered up his thoughts on his difficult decision to leave the Tigers.
“Looking back I had a great time,” McMillan said. “The only thing that hurt was leaving. It was making the best decision for me, my family and my situation. And I feel like to better my career. But LSU was nothing but great to me.”
“I’m an LSU alumnus. That’s always my home. The guys over there I built a great connection with for a good meat of my life. I’m growing, aging, becoming a grown man.”
To announce his decision to transfer to Tulane, McMillan issued the following tweet:
I’m thankful for everything I will be finishing my career and starting the next chapter of my life at Tulane @GreenWaveFB #NewOrleans pic.twitter.com/RLeDgM5QLt
