Minute Maid Park couldn’t hold Jordan Thompson. The LSU shortstop was only 1-for-4 on the night, but his one hit of the night went to the Crawford Boxes in Houston. Thompson’s 11th-inning solo home run lifted the Tigers to a 5-4 win over Oklahoma in the Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic.

The Tigers needed 2 runs in the 7th inning to tie it 3-3, which remained the score after 9 innings. In the 10th, Oklahoma took a 4-3 in the top half of the inning. In the bottom half, Cade Doughty doubled, plating Tre’ Morgan. Thompson provided the walk-off heroics, but it was Doughty who had the most productive night, going 3-for-5 with 3 RBI, 2 doubles and a home run.
Blake Money led the LSU pitching effort, going 6.2 innings, striking out 7 and allowing 3 runs (1 earned). LSU moves to 9-1 on the year ahead of Saturday’s showdown with No. 1 Texas.
