LOOK: LSU basketball to give away ‘Cousin Eddie’ hats in Christmas Vacation promo

Forget bobblehead dolls, this might take the cake as one of the best game promotions around.
The LSU Tigers basketball team is off to a solid 5-2 start this season. Though they are not ranked in the AP Poll, starting well could be a key for the Tigers this season.
Unfortunately, the Tigers are in the midst of a sometimes lackluster non-conference schedule. Saturday’s game is against Stephen F. Austin, and the school is pulling out an intriguing promotional item in order to encourage fans to attend.
Robert J. Munson, LSU’s Senior Associate Director of Athletics, shared a photo of the item, and fans in attendance Saturday will receive an LSU-branded “Cousin Eddie” hat. The hat is similar to the one worn by Randy Quaid when portraying Cousin Eddie in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.
