LSU wants to build a championship staff, so why not pull members from the reigning national champions?
The Tigers recently hired away WR coach Cortez Hankins from Georgia. Now, they’re adding an analyst from the Bulldogs’ staff, per a report.
According to FootballScoop.com, former Tennessee DC John Jancek, who served as a Georgia analyst this year, is heading to Baton Rouge to join Brian Kelly’s staff as an analyst:
#NEWS Boom, a significant one for @LSUfootball & Brian Kelly. Sources tell @FootballScoop that Kelly is adding former @Vol_Football D.C. John Jancek, a key analyst on @GeorgiaFootball's staff that just won the national title, to the LSU Tigers staff: https://t.co/ulB8b58XO3

FootballScoop’s report details Jancek’s connection to Kelly:
Most recently an analyst on Georgia’s national-title winning squad, Jancek has a history with Kelly that stretches to their days together at Grand Valley State – where Kelly first rose to coaching prominence and to the highest levels in NCAA Division II football. It’s also where Jancek first began to cultivate his own reputation as a keen defensive assistant.
Another solid hire for Kelly’s staff if it does indeed become official.
