LSU reportedly parts ways with recruiting staffer, former running back Nick Brossette
LSU has decided to let go of Nick Brossette, who served as director of alumni relations and high school outreach for the past 3 seasons, according to a report by WAFB-TV in Baton Rouge on Thursday.
The 28-year-old Brossette not only served on Brian Kelly’s staff since being hired in April of 2022. He has deep history with the LSU football program, playing running back for the Tigers from 2015-18. He’s also a Baton Rouge native, so he grew up very close to the program.
According to the report, Brossette was “blindsided by the dismissal” and there wasn’t a single incident that occurred that would’ve led up to Thursday’s move.
“It has been a dream of mine to come back and work where it all started,” Brossette said after getting the job at his alma mater in 2022.
In his role, Brossette maintained a relationship with the thousands of former LSU football players as well as serving as the staff liaison with high school football coaches. Brossette was also tasked with running the annual LSU Coaches Clinic.
As a player, Brossette rushed for 1,039 yards and 14 touchdowns during his senior season in Baton Rouge.
