LSU women’s basketball is going to the Final Four.
The Tigers punched their ticket to Dallas with a 54-42 victory over No. 9-seeded Miami on Sunday afternoon. The Canes previously won 3 games as the underdog in this tournament, but LSU put in a strong defensive effort in the win.
This is LSU’s 1st Final Four appearance since 2008. It’s the Tigers’ 6th trip to the Final Four in program history.

Alexis Morris led LSU with 21 points. Angel Reese was also a big factor in the win, posting 13 points, 19 rebounds and 5 assists.
LSU is the 1st team to earn a spot in this year’s Final Four. Iowa, Louisville, South Carolina, Maryland, Virginia Tech and Ohio State are all still alive in the Elite Eight.
Coach Kim Mulkey is in her 2nd seat at LSU. She has quickly been able to rebuild this program after the Tigers went 7 seasons without a NCAA Tournament victory.
The Tigers will face the winner of Virginia Tech-Ohio State on Friday. Tipoff time is still to be determined.
