Earlier this offseason, LSU sophomore WR Justin Jefferson changed his jersey number, going from No. 32 to No. 85.
However, that switch was short-lived, as he has made another change ahead of the 2018 season.
According to LSU reporter Shea Dixon, Jefferson has now switched from No. 85 to a single-digit number, opting to wear No. 2 this fall:
#LSU WR Justin Jefferson has changed his jersey to No. 2. Now, four of the top WR's on the team are wearing single-digits this year.
No. 1: Ja'Marr Chase
No. 2: Justin Jefferson
No. 6: Terrace Marshall
No. 7: Jonathan Giles— Shea Dixon (@Sheadixon) August 18, 2018
Jefferson is projected by some to be one of LSU’s starting receivers when the 2018 season begins, and indeed, he is worthy of being mentioned alongside the talented receivers in the tweet above.
Last season, Jefferson didn’t record a catch for the Tigers, but he did receive one carry for four yards. This fall, he figures to get a lot more action.
