LSU is finally getting its 2023 season underway with a Sunday night matchup against Florida State. On the first play of the game, the Tigers provided some fireworks but could not capitalize.

The very first play from scrimmage went for 55 yards with Jayden Daniels finding Tre Bradford all the way to the Florida State 20-yard line. The next play was a 15-yard connection with Mason Taylor with the Tigers instantly in the red zone.

Unfortunately, that is when things began to stall out for LSU. The Tigers ultimately had 6 plays inside the 5-yard line (thanks in part to an unnecessary roughness penalty) but were unable to find the end zone.

After back-to-back incomplete passes on 2nd and 3rd down, LSU dialed up another pass play on 4th down from the goal line. Unfortunately, Daniels was sacked by DJ Lundy with the Tigers turning the ball over on downs.

To make matters worse, Florida State scored a touchdown on a prolonged drive shortly after. We’ll see how LSU responds.
