Rickey Jefferson has received bad news.

According to Nick Underhill of The Advocate, Jefferson sustained a torn ACL on Friday. The former LSU safety, who now plays for the New Orleans Saints, exited Friday’s preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals with the injury.

Jefferson will reportedly miss the entire 2018 season.

The former Tiger signed a reserves/futures deal with the Saints at the end of last season, but was released after rookie minicamp in May. He rejoined the team earlier this month.

Jefferson played at LSU from 2013-16. He went undrafted before playing for the Oakland Raiders during the 2017 preseason. However, he was cut before the season began.
