Tom Brady knows what a good NFL quarterback looks like.
Brady is widely considered to be the GOAT NFL QB, so when Brady compliments another passer, people take notice. On Wednesday, Brady praised former LSU Tiger and current Washington Commander Jayden Daniels.
“So even though Jayden Daniels is just a rookie, he has that poise and confidence… Look at a young Tiger Woods,” said Brady. “He never had proven on the big stage that he was ready for those big moments in the Masters in ’97, but he had proved that to himself in all those junior amateurs that he won, that he didn’t care who he was playing. It was him versus him.”
Brady is referencing Woods becoming the youngest golfer ever to win the Masters in 1997. That moment provided a glimpse of what Woods would eventually become, which is one of the greatest golfers ever.
It’s strong praise from the great, and it’s not undeserved. Daniels, as a rookie, is preparing to play in the NFC Championship Game against the Philadelphia Eagles. The rookie has already won 2 playoff games, giving Washington their first playoff wins since 1992.
So far, Daniels has thrown for 3,568 yards with 25 touchdowns and 9 interceptions during his rookie campaign. Daniels has also rushed for 891 yards and 6 scores so far. The incredible debut season led to the Commanders winning 11 games during the regular season after winning just 4 the previous season.
Daniels and the Commanders will kick off in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. ET.
