The LSU Tigers held off Louisiana-Lafayette in the first round of the NIT on Wednesday night, picking up an 84-76 victory.

The game was a feisty one, with LSU fans chanting “Little brother!” at the Ragin’ Cajuns, irking ULL coach Bob Marlin.

Both coaches got whistled for technicals late in the game, but LSU coach Will Wade really got on Marlin’s nerves during a timeout, prompting the officials to have to step in to keep things from escalating further:

Wade really relished the win, according to LSU reporter Cody Worsham, as he had some choice words for Marlin throughout the latter part of the game:

LSU advances to the next round of the tournament, while ULL will go home. However, this rivalry has been revitalized, and it will be a fun one to watch if they meet on the court again in the coming years.
