Tennessee vs. LSU

While these two powerhouses don’t meet on the gridiron as frequently as many of the SEC’s storied rivalries, one can argue that Tennessee vs. LSU is one of the more underrated matchups the Southeastern Conference offers. While recent games in the 2010s were lopsided, all 6 games in the 2000s were decided by ten points or less, and some of the games had wild outcomes.
Perhaps no Tennessee-LSU game had a more wild finish in recent memory than the 2010 game in which LSU won the game with a touchdown several minutes after the teams and fans thought the game was over. After a bad snap in the closing seconds by LSU, Tennessee fans and team celebrated the win. However, fans then learned that Tennessee was penalized for too many men on the field. This gave LSU one more opportunity, and it led to a touchdown and an LSU victory.
LSU and Tennessee have squared off in the SEC Championship Game twice — in 2001 and 2007. LSU won both games.
