Mario Cristobal shares injury update on Rueben Bain, Damari Brown after Florida win
Mario Cristobal shared an important injury update on a couple key players following Miami’s 41-17 win over Florida on Saturday night.
Both Rueben Bain and Damari Brown were forced to leave the game early due to soft tissue injuries, Cristobal said. The Miami coach didn’t indicate that either injury would be a longterm issue, saying the pair would be out for “a week, maybe two.”

That’s good news for Miami, as both Bain and Brown are key members of Miami’s defense. Bain established himself as one of the top young pass rushers in the country last season as a true freshman. Brown started for the Hurricanes at defensive back on Saturday afternoon.
Miami shouldn’t need to rush either back from injury in the short-term. The Canes thrived in their first (and only) major test of nonconference play. Miami will face Florida A&M, Ball State and South Florida over the next 3 weeks.
This win over the Gators was arguably the biggest of the Cristobal era so far. With Florida State and Clemson losing their respective season-openers, Miami appears to be the best team in the ACC heading into Week 2.
Miami will battle Florida A&M at 6 p.m. ET next week on Saturday night.
