Former Mississippi State QB Dak Prescott took the NFL by storm after the Dallas Cowboys selected him in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
As a rookie, he led the Cowboys to the best regular-season record in the NFL (13-3) while throwing for 3,667 yards and 23 touchdowns.
However, he took over the starting job for the injured Tony Romo and never gave it back, causing the longtime Dallas starter to search for a new job this offseason.
On Tuesday, Romo decided to retire from football and join CBS as a color commentator. That prompted Prescott to post a classy Instagram message for his former teammate, thanking him for all he taught the rookie during their one season together:
The Cowboys are clearly Prescott’s team now, but the ex-Bulldog proved on Tuesday that he won’t forget those who came before him and the lessons they taught him.
