Former Mississippi State QB Nick Fitzgerald to miss time due to non-football injury

Former Mississippi State QB Nick Fitzgerald is with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this preseason after signing as an undrafted free agent.
However, his tenure is off to a bad start this summer, as he’s already suffered his first injury. The bad news for him, though, is that this injury didn’t take place on the football field.
Per coach Bruce Arians, Fitzgerald is expected to miss about a week of action after hurting his hamstring playing beach volleyball:
Bruce Arians says rookie QB Nick Fitzgerald, who was put on the active/NFI list, pulled a hamstring playing beach volleyball and will probably just be out a week.

Fitzgerald should still have plenty of time to make an impact when he returns from injury, but this wasn’t a great idea to play beach volleyball.
Hopefully he’s able to get back on the field soon so we can see him get some action this preseason.
