Nick Fitzgerald etches name into SEC history books against Kentucky

Published:

Mississippi State QB Nick Fitzgerald joined some elite company on Saturday.

The junior eclipsed the 2,000 yard rushing mark for his career in the third quarter of the Bulldogs game with the Kentucky Wildcats. Fitzgerald becomes just the sixth SEC QB to reach that mark and joined fellow MSU stars John Bond and Dak Prescott on the list.

The all-time leader for rushing yards by a QB in the SEC is former Florida Gator Tim Tebow with 2,947. Fitzgerald is just under 900 yards away from that mark and could potentially catch Tebow’s record.

Either way, Fitzgerald is continuing a remarkable career with the Bulldogs.
