Brady Cook wrapped up a terrific career at Mizzou this past season, and he is looking at taking that to the next level in the NFL as he is participating at the NFL Combine this week.
While he was known as a good quarterback during his time in Columbia, he is showcasing that he is a terrific athlete as well. In the 40-yard dash, he put up a time of 4.60, which is a very good time for a quarterback. Running was a part of Cook’s game in college, as he rushed for 20 touchdowns in his Missouri career.
However, it wasn’t just his speed that he showed off, but also his leaping ability and explosiveness. Cook posted a 37-inch vertical and a 10’7’’ broad jump. The broad jump is only 1 inch away from the quarterback combine record set by former Florida QB Anthony Richardson.
Cook put together one of the most impressive displays by a quarterback in the athletic testing part of the combine. Considering this is viewed as a weak class for QBs, Cook has a chance to slide up with only Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders and Miami’s Cam Ward viewed as first-round locks.
While he is still looked at as a potential undrafted free agent, Cook opened eyes this week at the NFL combine. He will have one more chance to impress scouts at Missouri’s pro day on March 21.
