Brady Cook’s 2024 season is on hold, according to a report, as the Missouri quarterback undergoes further testing on Sunday that will determine the full extent of the injury to his throwing hand that he suffered in Saturday’s loss at Alabama.
That news was reported by 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz on Sunday.
Cook had just 30 yards passing when he was injured late in the 1st half of the 34-0 loss in Tuscaloosa.

“They took an X-ray and didn’t feel like they were comfortable with him continuing,” Missouri head coach Eliah Drinkwitz said on Saturday.
Ex-Notre Dame starting QB Drew Pyne replaced Cook against the Crimson Tide and didn’t fare much better. Pyne went just 6-of-12 passing for 42 yards and 3 interceptions as Alabama swallowed up the Missouri offense all day long.
Cook has 1,575 yards passing so far this season with 7 touchdown passes and just 1 interception. He has also run for 4 touchdowns.
Saturday’s battle with Alabama was the 2nd straight game that Cook left because of an injury. He injured his ankle on the opening series the week before against Auburn, returned late in the 3rd quarter after having an MRI and led Missouri to 2 4th-quarter touchdowns in a come-from-behind 21-17 victory.
Missouri is idle in Week 10 and will host old Big 12 rival Oklahoma in Week 11.
