The hole in Missouri’s 2015 non-conference schedule just got smaller.
Not long after warning the fan base that the Tigers were unlikely to schedule a power conference team in 2015, Missouri on Thursday announced it has added American Athletic Conference member Connecticut in a home-and-home series.

The Tigers now have one non-conference slot left to fill for next season. The team also is scheduled to host Southeast Missouri State, an FCS school, and two non-power conference FBS teams in Connecticut and Arkansas State (in Jonesboro, Ark.).
In 2017, Missouri now is scheduled to play Purdue an UConn, with two non-conference matchups yet to be announced.
“One of the most challenging aspects of conference realignment has involved football scheduling, and reconstructing things after we moved to the SEC,” executive associate athletic director Bryan Maggard said in a statement Thursday. “We’re getting really close to having 2015 taken care of and being able to move on to future schedules, so that’s very exciting.”
