Missouri will be without DE Tre Williams for the foreseeable future following an arrest on Sunday on suspicion of second-degree assault.
Williams was arrested by Columbia, Missouri police and booked at 7:08 a.m., according to a report by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and a Boone County Sheriff Department’s arrest report. He posted a bond of $4,500.
Williams, 21, a redshirt sophomore, started most of the season and has played in all 12 games. Williams has 20 tackles, five tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks, which is third on the team.
The Tigers play Oklahoma State in the Liberty Bowl on New Year’s Eve.
Coach Barry Odom released a statement that Dave Matter reported as: “We were made aware of the situation yesterday, and Tre was immediately suspended indefinitely from all team activities. We will provide an update if his status changes.”
