Taylor Powell, who spent 4 seasons on the Missouri roster before transferring to Troy ahead of the 2021 season, is now at Eastern Michigan. And he’s reportedly won the starter’s role there, per 247Sports’ Brandon Marcello.
Powell redshirted his freshman year at Mizzou in 2017 and played 6 games in 2018. That included a showing against FCS UT Martin, where he recorded 109 yards on 4-of-9 passing.
In 2019, Powell played in 6 more games, putting together a stat line of 297 yards and a touchdown on 29-of-62 passing while starting once. He didn’t play in 2020 and ultimately transferred to Troy, where he totaled 1,251 yards, 7 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions in 6 games, including 5 starts. Despite entering the season as the starter, he ultimately lost his job to Gunnar Watson.
Now, Powell is in Ypsilanti with Eastern Michigan. The Eagles were 7-6 (4-4 MAC) in 2021 and played in the LendingTree Bowl vs. Liberty.
