YouTube TV is a streaming service millions of people use to watch traditional cable channels, including ABC, which was airing Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Monday night.
In the final minute of the game, with the Denver Nuggets looking to clinch the title against the Miami Heat, YouTube TV experienced a massive glitch.
Viewers at home saw this screen during a critical possession of the game:

As one might expect, that drew a ton of criticism on social media, as fans who temporarily could not see the game were quick to rip the streaming service.
Below, you can see some of the ire directed toward YouTube TV, which also had a notable outage during a Boston Celtics playoff game earlier this postseason:
wow apparently @YouTubeTV fkn over everybody's nba finals elimination game in the last seconds of the fourth ?

Prices keep going up with @YouTubeTV and this kind of stuff keeps happening (in the NBA finals with 45 seconds left!), glad I’m just a casual viewer.#nba #NBAFinals pic.twitter.com/YPNRmC2Sey

YouTubeTV get it together, you can't be going to rainbow bars with 40 seconds left in a closeout Finals game.

YouTube TV glitched during what might be the most pivotal play of a title clinching NBA Finals game. Anyway, I’m sure your NFL Sunday Ticket packages will work just fine!

@youtubetv how are you planning to compensate everyone that has had multiple games throughout this NBA Playoffs cut out, stop working altogether or just not show up in the app anymore? Are you kidding me? You’re not ready for the NFL Sunday Ticket.
— Josh (@Herschal) June 13, 2023
YouTube TV recently landed the exclusive rights to NFL Sunday Ticket for the upcoming season. Will these sorts of issues be sorted out before the start of the NFL season?
If not, expect the criticism to continue on social media moving forward.
