West Virginia Online Casino Revenue Just Shy Of $41 Million In August

West Virginia online casinos put up a strong $40.9 million in August, one of the highest months ever for iGaming revenue in the state.
The tally for the West Virginia online casinos was up 24.7% compared to last August’s total of $32.8 million, which was a new monthly record at the time.
August’s revenue total was also up 12.4% from the $36.4 million the state had in July.
How August’s WV Online Casino Revenue is Tabulated
The West Virginia Lottery releases weekly revenue reports on iGaming through their website, so there are not clear-cut monthly totals, but you can get a good approximation of how things are.
Reports are slotted by the ending of each week, Here’s how each looked in August.
- Week Ending August 1: $8,863,300 ($1,266,186 avg. over one day)
- Week Ending August 8: $9,290,602
- Week Ending August 15: $9,596,241
- Week Ending August 22: $9,243,233
- Week Ending August 29: $8,712,305
- Week Ending September 5: $9,804,932 (Average of $2,801,409 over 2 days)
- Total: $40,909,976
The week ending August 1 was done by average, as was the week ending September 5, so that is why we say the monthly total was approximately $40.9 million.
With the 15% tax rate on the revenue, $6.3 million was generated for the state through the August iGaming numbers.
Revenue Crosses $300 Million in 2026
West Virginia has now surpassed $40 million in monthly revenue three times in 2026. March still holds the current revenue record at $42.0 million. The low of $36.4 million in July would have been the second-highest monthly total of all of 2025.

For the year, West Virginia has generated $314.2 million in online casino revenue. That is an average of about $39.3 million per month.
Should that continue, it would push WV iGaming revenue to about $471 million.
By comparison, Fiscal Year 2025/26 revenue closed out in June at $439.2 million.
The total revenue for 2026 will certainly be a statewide record. The only question remaining now is how high will the total get.
A Return to $10 Million Week is Coming
In what is somewhat of a surprise, West Virginia has yet to get a $10 million revenue week through iGaming after doing so for the first time in early March.
The week ending March 7 brought in $10.7 million, the first time the state had ever surpassed $10 million, so it was quite a big jump up.
Since then, West Virginia has failed to reach $10 million again in a given week. The end of August/start of September saw its closest mark since.
The week ending Sept. 5 got to $9.8 million, so expect the averages to keep getting closer and closer to $10 million before that becomes the new normal sometime in 2027.
