2022 NCAA Baseball Tournament schedule (Updated June 4, 2022)

The 2022 NCAA baseball tournament got underway Friday, June 3. There were no major upsets in the first round of regional play, as no national top 16 seeds lost games. However, 16 teams will potentially be eliminated Saturday, pending weather and makeups.

The Miami regional games were postponed until Saturday due to weather. Georgia Southern’s game against UNC Greensboro was also postponed due to weather. Regional play will end on Monday, June 6.

Of the 64 teams in regional play, 32 were selected on an at-large basis by the Division I Baseball Committee and 16 national seeds are hosting regionals tournaments.

The favorite to win the national championship are the Tennessee Volunteers. The Vols were named the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament after winning the SEC regular season title and the conference tournament championship. Tennessee hammered Alabama State 10-0; however, the big news here is that catcher Evan Russell may miss the entire regional.

Following this weekend’s regional action, the Super Regionals are scheduled to start Friday, June 10 and finish by Monday, June 13. The winners of the best-of-3 series then reach the College World Series, which starts on June 17 and finishes June 27. Punching their ticket to Omaha is every college baseball player’s dream.

According to DraftKings, the Tennessee Volunteers are currently the favorite to win the College Baseball World Series. DraftKings is one of the legal sportsbooks available for Tennessee online sports betting.
