Arkansas (10-1) brought out the brooms on Sunday, and secured the sweep of Charlotte in dramatic fashion.

It was a 3-3 ballgame in the bottom of the 9th inning. The bases were loaded with 1 out when Logan Maxwell decided to end it. He got a hold of the first pitch, and it dropped in center field for Nolan Souza to score the winning run, giving Arkansas the 4-3 victory.

The Razorbacks got a strong outing from starting Landon Beidelschies. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 4 hits while striking out 7 and only walking 1 batter.

Parker Coil followed with 1.2 IP in relief. He tossed an immaculate in the 8th. All 9 pitches went for strikes, with 3 Ks recorded.

Dave Van Horn’s club almost did not come to the plate in the 9th. The Hogs were up 3-1 after 8, but the 49ers rallied for 2 runs in the top of the 9th, chasing Christian Foutch without recording an out. Will McEntire tossed 1 IP, recording the win.

The game-winning single was Maxwell’s 3rd hit of the day, a team-high. The No. 4 Razorbacks will look to extend their 6-game winning streak on Tuesday against ULM.
