College baseball player draws ridiculous ejection after relatively calm home run celebration

College baseball’s home run celebrations have gotten bigger and louder in recent years, but not everyone goes over the top with them.
Recently, though, Washington’s Will Simpson drew an ejection for a home run celebration that was pretty tame under the circumstances.
As you can see below, Simpson was ejected for “excessive celebration” after hitting a game-tying homer in the sixth inning against Santa Clara on Monday. All he appeared to do was underline the “Washington” on his jersey as he approached third base:

Washington went on to win the game 10-7, improving to 2-2 on the season.
Hopefully, umpires at future games involving the Huskies aren’t so quick to eject a player for a home run celebration like Simpson’s.
