The College World Series 2023 action rolls into Saturday, June 17 on the heels of some dramatic finishes to begin the series in Omaha.
The double-elimination tournament began with Oral Roberts facing TCU to start things off. The Horned Frogs carried a 3-run lead into the 9th inning but wilted as Oral Roberts scored 4 runs, including a go-ahead 3-run home run.
Florida and Virginia followed in the nightcap and produced similar results. The Gators scuffled offensively for much of the night but came alive late. Florida erased a 5-3 deficit with a pair of solo HRs in the bottom of the 9th before Luke Heyman walked off the Cavs with a sacrifice fly.
2 more games are set for Saturday with Stanford and No. 1 overall seed Wake Forest beginning play at 2 pm ET on ESPN. Tennessee and LSU will face off in an SEC matchup in the primetime game at 7 pm.
